Modeling urban tree growth as a part of the green infrastructure to estimate ecosystem services in urban planning

چکیده
Motivation: Planting urban trees is important for development. Foliage reflects, scatters, and absorbs incoming shortwave solar radiation, thus reducing the energy flow to underlying surface, including streets, houses, humans. Shaded areas, with primarily anthropogenic substrates, are not as heated nonshaded areas. Subsequently, temperature, radiation its influence on morbidity of fauna flora comparatively lower in these Materials Methods: Statistical methods were applied assess allometric functions trees. The analyzed data obtained from tree cadaster Magdeburg City, Germany, which contains information 1936 2021. As June 2022, contained 89,766 species Acer campestre , platanoides Malus spp., Quercus robur subjected investigation. Nine temperature optimum (TO)/precipitation (PO) scenarios considered, their effects relationships determined, respectively: 1. TO 17–19°C/PO 450–550 mm, 2. 19–21°C/PO 3. 21–23°C/PO mm., 4. 550–650 5. 6. 7. 650–750 8. 9. mm. Results Discussion: In six nine scenarios, a significant correlation was evident temperature. Water uptake found be scenario No competition breast head diameter growth could determined any scenario. Five significantly comparable. While conditionally non-significant ( p -value = 0.069 & 0.058), elevation forecast 3 6 only, dependence all other scenarios. Regarding crown diameter, 9 relationship water competition. Conclusions: clear abiotic identified. Thus, continuous adjustment parameters necessary refine functions. Moreover, function adaptation according different age phases might considered long term.

From Multifunctionality to Multiple Ecosystem Services? A Conceptual Framework for Multifunctionality in Green Infrastructure Planning for Urban Areas
Green infrastructure (GI) and ecosystem services (ES) are promoted as concepts that have potential to improve environmental planning in urban areas based on a more holistic understanding of the complex interrelations and dynamics of social-ecological systems. However, the scientific discourses around both concepts still lack application-oriented frameworks that consider such a holistic perspect...
متن کاملReconnecting Cities to the Biosphere: Stewardship of Green Infrastructure and Urban Ecosystem Services
Within-city green infrastructure can offer opportunities and new contexts for people to become stewards of ecosystem services. We analyze cities as social-ecological systems, synthesize the literature, and provide examples from more than 15 years of research in the Stockholm urban region, Sweden. The social-ecological approach spans from investigating ecosystem properties to the social framewor...
متن کاملPlanning for Future Urban Services in the Smart City Era: Integrating E-services in Urban Planning Process
Information and communication technology (ICT) has transformed how we live our lives and the way we interact in different contexts. Benefits of ICT and its upcoming efficiencies (i.e. energy efficiency) are becoming the heart of many public services’ reforms which have influenced the time, distance and space concepts. At present, not only there is a lack of clarity about what high-quality ICTba...
متن کاملFinancing Green Urban Infrastructure
This paper presents an overview of practices and challenges related to financing green sustainable cities. Cities are essential actors in stimulating green infrastructure; and urban finance is one of the promising ways in which this can be achieved. Cities are key investors in infrastructure with green potential, such as buildings, transport, water and waste. Their main revenue sources, such as...
متن کاملUrban expansion as a driver of biodiversity loss: Integrating biodiversity in urban planning in African context
Africa has high biodiversity and is rapidly urbanizing. However, there is limited understanding of how urban expansion in Africa is likely to affect its habitats and biodiversity. Little urban ecological research has been done in Africa. This study needs to think ahead as Africa move into the “urban age” it is critical to inform the public on the importance of urban environment...
